Archaeological Sites & Cultural Landscape Design
The Project subjected to design a cultural landscape in the area opposite the Antiphellos Theater in the center of Kaş, Antalya. As a result of archaeological excavations carried out in this area, ancient wall remains, towers, garnum (ancient fish processing workshops), and two cisterns have been found along the coast. Our aim is to highlight these artifacts and introduce them to visitors, while providing a pleasant landscape project for the local community to enjoy. In this context, an outdoor exhibition has been designed, where the locations of the archaeological remains have been determined to draw attention within the area and to present them in their context to the visitors. The design primarily focuses on designs that do not overshadow the artifacts and do not require foundations. The work carried out is grouped as follows: [a] Development of proposals for the multipurpose use of the area, [b] Development of varied programmatic adaptations targeting different age groups and visitor profiles, [c] Creation of visitor tour scenarios and open air exhibition design for the archaeological park, [d] Planning and implementation of infrastructure and design strategies to facilitate diverse temporal activities, ensuring the area functions as a vibrant center operating during both diurnal and nocturnal periods.
