Kütahya Museum I/ Kütahya Müzesi
Kütahya Museum is an ongoing archeology museum construction in which general planning and exhibition design held by TEATI. Scenography of the museum cureated around the artifacts from the scientific excavations of Aizonai Ancient City and Seyitömer Mound. The scientific excavations at Aizonai began in 1926, led by D. Krencker and M. Schede on behalf of the German Archaeological Institute. Aizonai, listed by UNESCO, is one of the most significant cities of the Roman Period, featuring the Zeus Temple, the Complex of Stadium-Theatre, and the Macellum. Additionally, the re-curated museum will also showcase 4,500-year-old rope pieces and organic artifacts unearthed from the Seyitömer Mound excavation. Although initiated to access the 12 million tons of lignite reserve beneath the Seyitömer Mound, the excavation has revealed settlements dating back to the second and third periods of the Early Bronze Age and the Roman period. It is one of the “fast forward” excavation it Turkey.
